Plans that were approved years ago by the Government for large Developments to be built on Sal and other Cape Verde Islands has resulted in a gradual change of the landscape. Some developers on Sal are close to handover, others have just started levelling the land, putting in the infrastructure, fencing off land or been delayed. Those that are being planned or started on other islands are also at various stages. Read on....
Some of these large developments on Sal are being built around Santa Maria, east and west coast and also further up the island.

The global financial difficulties that countries and people are currently facing will have an affect on how quickly or slowly some developments are built or are signed over, although there are other issues which are mentioned in other sections of this website
