The Hotel da Luz is situated 150m. from the beach. It is a family run hotel situated in Santa Maria, Sal Island, Cape Verde.

Santa Maria is on the south of the island but only 20minutes away from the international airport of Amilcar Cabral.

Hotel da Luz is a quiet hotel during the summer but attracts many European guests and from Scandinavian countries who fly in for some winter sun and water sports from the middle of October, throughout the winter until April/May.

Visitors are welcome to come along and pay for a meal at reasonable prices, generally without making a booking, but during December it is recommended.

They have 38 rooms and 4 x T2 apartments.

The hotel has a pool, a restaurant and a bar.

The reception area leads to the quarters, reception desk, and also has a small relaxing area to watch television or use the internet.

The beach nearby is popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers so its not far to carry your own equipment or visit the surf centres to hire them.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The hotel is in a central position wheras some of the other hotels on the south west side of Santa Maria are further away from the main village. The family are local and originate from the lovely island of Sao Nicolau. The hotel and rooms may be dated compared to the newer hotels, but you will get a warm welcome from the da Luz family and will enjoy the meals and occasional entertainment. Note : They accept VISA

Or if you have already booked your accomodation on Sal, they would love to see you, so come along and try out their restaurant during the morning, lunch or evening and sit outside at the end of your meal in the shade or, in the evening to enjoy the cool breeze and a drink of your choice.
