Love & Devotion


If you would like to celebrate your partnership, life, marriage or honeymoon with the special person in your life, then we can help with a romantic reading. Unlike Religious Blessings or Renewal of Vows - no legal documents or Pastor is required for a Love and Devotion reading, they are not legally binding readings, they are just romantic gestures lasting about 15-30mins.

 

Contact us in advance to make your request and we will provide you with options. Please note, venues are fewer on Boavista, also if you are staying at the Riu Touareg on Boavista, there are other things that need to be considered as the Touareg is 25klms from Sal Rei. There are no suitable venues on beaches in between the Touareg and Sal Rei that we can use for your ceremony. We use venues on the beach in or near the village of Sal Rei on Boavista. The beach outside the Touareg on Boavista is fantastic, however if it rains or there are strong winds, there is no shelter. If we use the beach near a venue such as the ones in Sal Rei and the weather is not favourable, we may be able to take shelter. Sal has more venues within Santa Maria, all the hotels including the two Riu hotels are close by and there are more options. If you are staying at one of the hotels you can have your reading on the beach in Santa Maria near one of the venues, where you can also have some drinks afterwards.

We will ask you to contact us on arrival at your hotel so that we can speak to you by phone to make sure you have arrived safely and to confirm everything is ok for your service. Prior to the sevice we will liaise with the venue host and make sure that they are open on the day, have informed their staff of any arrangements and identify if there are things we need to be made aware of for the day and time of your reading, which we need to consider.

On the day of the reading the person performing the reading will arrive in sufficient time to check that no other use is being made of the area, as all the beaches are public, anyone can turn up and start kicking a football around or bring their own loud music. We also need to check if there is anything we need to be made aware of, which could be anything from there has been a power cut, shortage of water (no flushing loo's) or something else out of our control. The person performing the reading will greet you and when ready will ask you to join them at the chosen area. The reading, which you have chosen and provided us, will then be read to you. The reading will conclude and you will be free to continue with your own celebration.

Please read the notes on the additional services within the secure zone i.e. the photograph CD provided by the photographer and other related services and hire costs. Some choose not to have a photographer but ask others to take photos with their camera.

Readings can be held on a beach on Boavista or Sal. Normally they are held near a venue where you can use the facilities afterwards for a social celebratory drink or have a meal whilst overlooking the beach and the ocean. They can be simple with/without arch or photographer, private, shared between the couple, with friends, or in a public area and can be performed in the evening or during the day. They are suitable for couples of any age, for those that are divorced, in partnerships, second marriages or engaged, it's a lovely way to tell someone how much you think of them.

There are a number of readings and quotes to choose from, or you can choose your own special reading if you have one. We have a few short readings you can use, but how about using your own, make up a poem, use lyrics from your favourite song/s or look at some poems online. It’s really easy and will make the build up to this special one off occasion much more magical. All you need to do is let us know your choice for a reading.
