Expats Cape Verde

The Expats website is due to be partially incorporated within the Cape Verde Tips website in 2017. It is expected that the Expats Newsletter, Blogs and some other information will be transferred over to Cape Verde Tips.

A fortnightly Expats Cape Verde Newsletter commenced circulation in December 08 and later it became a weekly newsletter. Information within the newsletter included links to blogs, national news links, advertisements, visa contacts, occasionally info on Restaurants and Bars and other businesses.

Information was dependent on what subject matter and information was supplied to us, occasionally it also included some info from received from Expats on other Cape Verde islands. Most of the local information is/was about Sal Island. Expats and investors subscribed to receive the newsletter and the registration list has grown.

In 2016 the newsletter became ad-hoc, this was mainly due to other commitments. We are currently unsure as to how often the newsletter will be circulated from January 2017. However we will also be considering other methods of providing information as an additional service.

We will still be accepting registration for the newsletter and the current template used for the Expats newsletter has been transferred to the new Cape Verde Tips website and it has been used as a template page here. Some advertisements have been removed but may re-appear at some stage when we have decided what to do.

There are still some active links to page information and news in the side columns which you may want to browse through. We have made the links on the left column at the top to the Portuguese language news from A Semana, in Portuguese, however the newsletter sent to subscribers will have those links in English. You will also find links to Consuls and Embassies located in the left column at the bottom of this page.

This template is basically the same one that we will use to send out a newsletter to subscribers. I decided to keep the layout the same as subscribers are familiar with it. If you receive the newsletter for the first time, it will be because you have registered previously on the Cape Verde Tips website. If you do not wish to receive the newsletter you can always click on 'unsubscribe' at the bottom of the newsletter.

Within the Expats section we will also provide information concerning the British Embassy and other Government website links.

Some newsletters will not be full of information about various things, they may be links to blogs or other media announcements. I/we will try our best to provide regular information. I say 'I' or 'we' quite often, but it's just 'me, myself and I' working on updating both the websites, so obviously it takes time to produce a blog, news links, newsletters and update pages with text and images and make sure everything looks how I want it or as it should without errors, as well as trying to learn how to re-format templates and other sections within this Adobe Management System which I still only know a fraction about, so with a little help and blogs written by others, it may make my life a bit easier. But there is still a lot more to do!
