The number of hotel units in Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) grew by 3.1% in 2016 to 223, according to the annual inventory conducted by the National Statistics Institute (INE) and published on Wednesday in Praia.
The existing hotel units at the end of last year had an accommodation capacity of 11,345 rooms, 18,382 beds and 24,376 places, representing increases of 7.6%, 1.8% and 6.2% respectively, compared to 2015.
Santiago topped the list of islands with 50 units, or 21.5% of the total, followed by Santo Antao, Sao Vicente and Sal, 42, 41 and 29 units, respectively, and annual growth of 18.0%, 17.6 % and 12.4%.
